Corporate Business Photography - Working with Aspiring Solicitors
I was fortunate to have recently been contacted by a London City firm, Aspiring Solicitors, who got in touch with me inquiring if I would like to provide them with a range of photographic imagery for their marketing and websites. The company definitely lives up to their name, the ethos and business is centred around targeting young undergraduate and postgraduate aspiring solicitors. The company offers mentoring, career advice, academic advice and coaching to students from underrepresented groups.
One of the companies great initiatives is their well organised annual competition, which this year attracted over a thousand applicants for their commercial awareness competition. It was this competition that I was commissioned to provide images for. I spent an enjoyable day photographing the students during this intensive and concentrated process at Barclay's Bank HQ in Canary Wharf, London. The competition's course is designed to develop and refine each participant’s awareness of political, economic and current affairs, as well as the commercial impact of these developments. Their objective is for the students to secure training contracts with some of the most prominent law, banking and financial companies in the UK.
The overriding commitment for Aspiring Solicitors is their commitment and devotion to diversity in the field of Law. There dedication in assisting students from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, state school education, low-income households, disabled and LGBT+ groups is admirable and well needed. The founder Chris White's compulsion is to increase the presence of young commercial lawyers from diverse backgrounds into the sometimes impenetrable, or exclusive world of commercial and business law. Not just the winners, but all of the finalist were able to showcase their commercial and financial knowledge and ultimately win work experience with the sponsoring firms. The competition has been life-changing for all of the winners over the last few years as they have all gone on to secure training contracts.
We all had a fantastic day at this year's Commercial Awareness Competition Grand Final 2018/19. Congratulations to all of the finalists for an incredible performance throughout the competition. I have no doubt that all the finalist will go on to a successful career in the world of commercial banking, such was the level of expertise and knowledge.
