Winning Photo entry for John Ferguson

I recently wrote a post on Linkedin about positive mindset messages and how important this is for everyone. Well, I was delighted to receive some news that one of my images from a personal project had received a highly commended award at The Photography Foundation Social Documentary Awards.

So I donned my favourite hat and sped down to trendy Shoreditch in East London to see my winning photograph on display amongst all the other outstanding winning entries.

I've got to say a big thank you to Sophie Robinson for her patience and her participation in my project, which centres around individuals suffering from sleeplessness and, in particular, insomnia at some stage in their lives.

The project is ongoing, and I'm still actively looking for others to come forward and tell their stories and have their portrait taken as part of this significant project. Check out this link to my project.

It's been a while since I last entered a photo competition, and I have to say that getting recognition for one's creative endeavours really does help in endorsing what it is that I'm doing.

Summer is here, so let's all embrace what's left of the year and push forward for those desired results we all hope for.
